URGENT ALERT……….NO SNOWMOBILE LAKE ACCESS FROM HOLA PROPERTY…………URGENT ALERT ..January 20, 2026
Attention HOLA Snowmobilers,
Due to recent changes in home/land ownerships, there is currently NO direct access from either the Overlook or Highland areas to the lake. HOLA has received correspondence from new lakefront owners stating that due to safety concerns they currently do not want HOLA or other snowmobilers using their land to access Rangeley Lake. This is their legal right and HOLA members, guests, and renters NEED to respect and abide by their rights or face potential trespassing legal actions.
In agreement with the new landowners, NO TRESPASSING signs will be posted at the Rt. 4 locations this week. HOLA personnel are currently discussing with other lakefront landowners alternative snowmobile access routes for HOLA members. Until then, please use the other HOLA snowmobile access routes to the Rangeley trail system.
Overlook properties: Access the Rangeley trail system by utilizing Summit Road to the power lines heading south.
Highland properties: Access the Rangeley trail system by utilizing Marion Drive Ext to the power lines heading north.
Also, to access the Rangeley trail system, you can trailer your sleds to either Rev-It-Up to the South on Rt 4 or Depot Street near the Rangeley Inn to the north on Rt 4.
Remember that almost 90% of all snowmobile trails are owned by private people / companies that graciously allow the snowmobilers community permission to access their land for your enjoyment. Let’s not ruin these relationships by intentionally / deliberately trespassing on someone’s private land. That’s a no-win situation.
Thank you, be respectful, and have a safe snowmobile season.
Sincerely,
Millie Hoekstra, HOLA President
